Mohammad Albanna, PhD. is a highly accomplished founder and CEO of Humabiologics, a renowned regenerative medicine company dedicated to providing human-derived biomaterials and honoring the gift of donated human tissues worldwide, fostering groundbreaking innovations in regenerative medicine and drug discovery. With over 15 years of industry experience and a prolific academic background as an adjunct assistant professor of surgery at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist, Dr. Albanna has held senior and executive leadership positions across various industries, including medical devices, blood banking, and tissue banking.

His work in regenerative medicine has earned him several prestigious accolades, such as the 2013 Thomas Edison Gold Award in Innovation, the 2018 Arizona Innovator of the Year finalist, and the 2021 Arizona Leader in Innovation Award. In addition to his remarkable achievements, Dr. Albanna is committed to fostering internship programs and mentoring students of all ages in high schools and colleges throughout the Phoenix Valley. Chief Compliance Officer

As Humabiologics’ Chief Compliance Officer, Dan Mahaffey, is responsible for ensuring the company’s policies and procedures are effectively implemented in accordance with FDA, ISO, and cGMP requirements. With an MBA in supply management and drawing on over two decades of experience in quality management and regulatory affairs for biomedical and biological devices, Dan previously served as Director of Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance at a nationally recognized tissue bank, where he demonstrated exceptional leadership and knowledge of various quality standards in the tissue banking industry. He was a third-party notified body auditor and has previously worked at numerous major medical device companies throughout the world.

Dan holds Regulatory Affairs Certification (RAC) in US FDA regulations from the Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society (RAPS), was a Certified Tissue Banking Specialist from the American Association of Tissue Banks (CTBS), and is a Certified Biomedical Auditor from the American Society for Quality (ASQ). He has also presented and spoken at multiple conferences for these organizations, highlighting his passion for quality and compliance. With his extensive expertise in tissue banking, medical devices, biological products, and unwavering commitment to quality, Dan ensures that Humabiologics consistently delivers the highest-quality biomaterials.
